The Barberini Palace is more than an Art Gallery. It was the family residence of Pope Maffeo Barberini (Urban VIII) . Competing with the most prestigious noble dynasties of Rome, the Pope commissioned architects Maderno, Bernini and Borromini to build this sumptuous residence.
