The Altemps palace is located between Piazza Navona and the Tiber river, in the northern side of the Campo Marzio Area that used to be the city center in Renaissance times.

The palace was built in the XV century and houses a precious collection of Ancient statues as well as a rich library.

The beautifully frescoed rooms reflect the taste and the prestige of Cardinal Marco Sittico Altempsthat lived here in the 1600s.

The museum features magnificent Ancient roman sculptures as the Ludovisi Throne, the Galata’s Suicide, the Ludovisi Sarcophagus and a great number of portraits of Roman Imperial families.
