This is the itinerary of the standard 3 hours tour, but if you wish we can customize it to make it longer or shorter !
We meet just by the Newspaper Agency outside the Metro Station in front of the Colosseum . There is only one exit so you do not have to worry about getting lost.
Our tour starts from the Forum, the heart of the Ancient Roman Empire. It was the political and commercial centre of the city hosting the most important temples, markets and courthouses.
We stop by the Temple of the Divine Caesar, that houses the altar of Julius Caesar, on which the famous dictator was cremated. Strolling along the original paths of the Forum we walk on the remaining blocks of the “Via Sacra” or “Sacred Way”, which once sparkled with festivals and triumphal processions. We are surrounded by majestic temples, awe-inspiring palaces, and magnificent basilicas built two thousand years ago!
Our tour continues on the Palatine, one of the seven hills of Rome. Atop this hill the Emperors built their house overlooking the Colosseum, the Circus Maximus and Roman Forum. I take you through a journey back in time visiting the rich villas, gardens, the baths and seeing first hand where the Emperors lived, ruled, and sometimes died assassinated!
Then we visit, the Colosseum, the world’s most famous Arena, where ferocious battles of gladiators and exotic animals entertained the Roman people.
