The Loggia of Psyche

Built in the early sixteenth century for Agostino Chigi, a rich Sienese banker and patron, the Villa Farnesina in Rome is one of the most beautiful and noblest creations of the Italian Renaissance, a work in which the architectural design and the pictorial decoration blend into a single, marvellous masterpiece.

The Villa, conceived by Baldassarre Peruzzi, is painted in fresco by great masters such as Raphael, Sebastiano del Piombo, Giovanni Antonio Bazzi, known as Sodoma, and Peruzzi himself.
