Itinerary

• 1st Stop

  Piazza del Plebiscito

  We will start our tour from the most emblematic square and a symbol of renovated Naples - Piazza del Plebiscito. Here we will see the significant historic buildings with great artistic and historic importance, including the Royal Palace, the former residence of the Bourbon Kings, the magnificent 19th-century Basilica of St. Francis of Paola, the Prefecture, and the Palace of Salerno.

• 2nd Stop

  Umberto I Gallery

  A short walk brings us to a beautiful, light-filled shopping gallery built in the 19th century in honour of Umberto I of Savoy. Together, we will discover its gorgeous and monumental interior topped with a glass dome and steel roof. You will be able to admire the galleries’ emblematic arcades, as well as the many luxurious designer stores and restaurants that it hosts.

• 3rd Stop

  Via Toledo

  After that, we will take a relaxing walk along one of the trendiest streets in the city – Via Toledo. Famous for its high-quality restaurants, bars, and cafés, it also features notable landmarks such as Piazza Dante, Piazza Trieste e Trento, Palazzo Cirella, and more.

• 4th Stop

  Quartieri Spagnoli

  We then take a walk through one of the most authentic districts of Naples, where you can truly feel the spirit of the city. Quartieri Spagnoli has long been portrayed as a place to avoid and one of Naples' most dangerous areas. Today, however, it represents the essence of Neapolitan popular culture and can be considered the beating heart of the city. You’ll enjoy strolling through a maze of charming alleys and stairways lined with traditional tavernas, small artisan shops, historic food markets, and a series of murals that celebrate the present and past history of Naples.

• 5th Stop

  Spaccanapoli

  Next, we will explore another important street in the city that divides the historic center in two. Spaccanapoli, which literally means "Naples splitter," was one of the three main roads (known as decumani) in the ancient city of Neapolis, founded in the 6th century BC. Today, the area is home to popular restaurants, authentic local shops, as well as significant historic monuments and hidden corners of the old city. Along the way, we will visit Piazza del Gesù Nuovo, the 14th-century Santa Chiara Monastery, the San Lorenzo Maggiore Basilica, the neoclassical Palazzo Venezia, and many other prominent sites.

• 6th Stop

  Via dei Tribunali

  We will continue our sightseeing tour along the oldest street in Naples, Via dei Tribunali, which dates back to the ancient Greek and Roman periods. Here, we will delve deep into history and uncover the ancient mysteries and secrets that have surrounded this area over the centuries. During the walk, we will visit the main Cathedral of Naples, also known as the “Cattedrale di San Gennaro,” and explore its impressive interior, adorned with frescoes by Domenichino and Giovanni Lanfranco.

• 7th Stop

  Castel dell'Ovo

  A short walk will bring us to the final stop of our tour, Castel dell'Ovo. Built by the Normans in the 12th century, this fortification is an excellent example of late-medieval architecture. As we walk around its fortified stone walls, we will uncover the rich history of the castle while enjoying the refreshing scent of the salty sea air and taking in the breathtaking views of the Gulf of Naples and Mount Vesuvius.
