Piazza della Repubblica is a grand square in the heart of Rome, known for its stunning architecture and vibrant atmosphere. At the center of the square stands the impressive Fontana delle Naiadi, a beautiful fountain adorned with statues of water nymphs and other mythological figures.
The Thermal Baths of Diocletian, known as the Terme di Diocleziano, were the largest public baths in ancient Rome and a remarkable feat of engineering. Built in the early 4th century AD, these expansive baths could accommodate thousands of visitors at a time and were part of a larger complex that included a gymnasium, gardens, and libraries.
The National Roman Museum (Museo Nazionale Romano) is one of the most important archaeological museums in Italy, showcasing an extensive collection of art and artifacts from ancient Rome. Visitors can explore a vast array of exhibits, including stunning frescoes, intricate mosaics, statues, and everyday objects that provide insight into Roman life.
The Basilica of St. Mary Major (Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore) is one of the largest and most important basilicas in Rome, renowned for its stunning architecture and rich history. Dating back to the 5th century, it is one of the four major papal basilicas and a significant site for Catholic pilgrimage.
Only few steps away from the Basilica we will reach the ruins of the Thermal Baths of Trajan built above the Domus Aurea, Nero’s Golden House.
Walking by the Colosseum we will see an Ancient Roman Aqueduct and the starting point of the Appian Way.
