Capitoline Hill, one of the seven hills of Rome, is the symbolic heart of the ancient city. Once home to the grand Temple of Jupiter, it served as a political and religious center of Roman life. Today, it is known for its stunning piazza designed by Michelangelo.
The Temple of Saturn is one of the oldest temples in Rome, dating back to around 497 BCE. Dedicated to Saturn, the god of agriculture and wealth, it once housed the state treasury (aerarium) and was a symbol of Rome's prosperity. Today, its eight surviving columns are an iconic ruin, offering a glimpse into the grandeur of ancient Roman architecture.
The Teatro di Marcello is an ancient open-air theater in Rome, built during the late Republic and completed under Emperor Augustus around 13 BCE. Today, the lower levels remain visible, while apartments occupy the upper part, blending ancient and modern Rome. The theater offers a striking example of Roman architecture and urban continuity
The Forum Boarium was the ancient cattle market of Rome, located near the Tiber River between the Palatine and Aventine hills. The area is home to two well-preserved temples: the circular Temple of Hercules Victor and the rectangular Temple of Portunus, both showcasing early Roman religious architecture.
Isola Tiberina is a small, boat-shaped island in the Tiber River, located in the heart of Rome. Steeped in mythology and history, it has long been associated with healing, housing the ancient Temple of Aesculapius, the Roman god of medicine. Today, the island is home to the Basilica of San Bartolomeo and a historic hospital.
